TCA 293 UK World Championships Athlete Support

The Techno 293 UK Class Association will be providing support for its members at the Techno 293 World Championships in Torbole, Italy.

The event will be a coached event organised and run by the Techno 293 UK Class Association and in order to project costs and possible numbers of participants we are asking the sailors to register there interest in this support.

Coach support will be provided on the 6.8 course and the 7.8 course using two ribs

The final cost depends on the amount of sailors going, the cost will go up or down depending if there are more or less than 10 sailors per rib.

We are at this time just trying to gauge people’s interest in going to the World Championships. If you are considering going to the Worlds then please get registering. All Techno sailors are encouraged to register for this event. The UKJS selected team will be taken into consideration and all atheletes are encouraged to register regardless of the selection.

Cost – The cost of the support will be no more than per head £250 for 10 sailors (this will drop down the more participants we have)

Details – The event will be supported by 2 coaches 1 for each fleet throughout the competition. Support will start in the morning and complete after all the racing has been completed for all fleets. Each coach will mentor and provide boat support for all the registered athletes.

Upon registration you will receive an email detailing a bit more information about the next steps.

We encourage all current and new coaches and instructors to answer a few questions about your qualifications, experience and availability. This is to enable us to find the most suitable coaches or instructors for different training opportunities, including domestic and international. We will be looking to work with a range of instructors with varying levels of qualifications and experience, so please still complete the form even if you are new to coaching. If you have any questions, please contact hel_bennett@hotmail.co.uk

Please complete the form by 30th April 2016

New TCA website live

Hello and welcome to our new website. We felt that it was time to update the site and refresh the look and feel a bit. Hopefully you’ll like the look of it and most importantly find it useful. We will try to keep the site up-to-date with events and news all things T293. The site is aimed at sailors, their parents and anyone interested in becoming involved in the Techno 293 circuit. We aim to promote our beautiful sport and hope that the website will help bring the Techno class closer to a wider audience.

The site will still evolve and with your support and input can become a useful tool that will help  understand national and international events, training, sailor progression, sailor support and anything else to do with the Techno Class.

The website (as it is common in most organisations) will co-exist with social media such as facebook and twitter. The thing is that not everybody is active on social media and without an outlet like this site it would be hard to find information and a contact point for new sailors. We also hope to get a forum going but need to sort a few things out first.

So please have a look around and keep coming back. The content will build up over time.

Many thanks for David Evans for his time and knowledge for running the previous version of this site.

See you on the water, Howie (TCA web guy)
