Sailors are fed and watered at events by volunteers on support boats and we don’t have enough of you - please let us know if you might be interested in helping. Experience isn’t necessary.
Putting your name forward doesn’t mean you’ll be sent out on a rescue boat in a “perfect storm”. Actually, the Techno and RS:X support boats aren’t “rescue” boats at all, just mobile canteens … we aren’t normally alowed to do rescues. Technos sail at many different venus and our more experienced support boat drivers will be happy for you to accompany them as crew in conditions where you are comfortable to give it a try. At most events we have spare waterproof clothes available so “I haven’t got anything to wear” isn’t an excuse.
Anybody is welcome as a crew volunteer. Driver volunteers must have at least Power Boat Level-2 qualification and appropriate experience for the event’s water and weather conditions.
